My
last night in Paris was so tough, because I started to feel sick & I know that I have to leave the next day. I felt terrible when I finally had to get up, I just didn’t want to leave at all because I felt so
bad. But, while traveling on a schedule like mine I had to move onward to my next destination. After leaving Paris by train
we headed to Luxembourg. Luxembourg is a small country between France, Germany & Belgium...& I thought it would make
a nice stop for a visit before heading to Brussels. The train ride took about 3 hours from Paris. After arriving in the country
I tried to catch a taxi to the old town area…but no one wanted to take me because
they said that I have too much stuff (don’t they know that the stroller can be folded??). After feeling so sick
and ending up having to walk to old town myself, I was ready to go home. I started to think this was too much for me to handle.
It felt like enough for me. I wanted to go back home more than anything. I was not feeling like taking any pictures at all.
It sucked that I was getting so sick. I realize though that when you travel we
all have moments where we get tired of it and burned out. I think this was my moment of burning out on travel! I still had
one more week to go though….so I couldn’t give up. One more frustrating thing was that I only had 1 camera left!
I left home with 3 cameras (2 digital and 1 video camera)…the camera didn’t break I just lost 1 of the buttons
so I wasn’t able to use it until I could get it fixed. And the video camera wouldn’t record anything. I actually
lost all my video footage from France….what a shame. It wasn’t a problem with the video camera…but it was
a bad dvd disc. Oh well, what luck??
After
leaving Luxembourg we went to Brussels, Belgium. Luckily our hotel is near the main walking street so it’s very easy
for us to find food. I pretty much rested most of the time and didn’t really get to see so much of Brussels. We got
to eat a famous Belgian waffle…ummm and I have to say that it was so yummy! Mac loved it so much. Before leaving Brussels
for our next destination we went to visit the “Grand Place”. The Grand
Place is so amazing & its very beautiful…too bad it was so cloudy that day! The pictures turned out a bit too dark.
Then I took Mac to see the famous statue called “Mannekin Pis”…& I didn’t realize how small the
statue was until I saw it with my own eyes. He was so cute and very tiny, and do you know what? He wasn’t naked like
had seen in some pictures of the statue… hahaha…someone had put a little, green colored Army uniform on him. Someone
must have had fun doing it hahaha. That statue was sculpted in the 1500’s to replace a similar one that was stolen.
The first little boy statue was actually made in the 1300’s….if I am correct. That is old! What an amazing history.
Next time I’ll continue with our next destination. Thanks for all the comments.
Mac sends his kisses & hugs. Xoxoxoxo
