Costa
Rica was our first stop on our Central America trip. We flew into the capital of San Jose where we spent some time exploring
the city. I can’t say I was impressed with it but it wasn’t so bad. Mac liked running around the plazas along
Avienda Central. So many school kids would gather in the plaza near the national theatre where they’d chase pigeons
and play with each other. The kids really loved playing here and so did Mac. We wanted to make sure that McKinley had plenty
to do when we were in San Jose so we took him to the zoo to see the tropical birds and the pair of African lions. When you
travel with a child its important that your vacation is also suited for our kids. We can’t do everything that we want
to do but we have to do as much as we possibly can to include our children. Our favorite restaurant in San Jose was called
“Rosti Pollo”. It was sooo yummy! They served fresh, roasted chicken and a million other things to go along with
it. We must of ate here a half a dozen times! Oh, there is one thing I must say about San Jose taxi drivers….they are
terrible. When we cross the streets they don’t even stop for you. We were pushing Mac across the street in his stroller
and they didn’t even bother to stop. It was very bad! The first day I arrived there they almost ran me over. This wasn’t
a nice welcoming to their city….but we survived! Just be careful crossing the streets…even Bangkok seems safer!
