Let me tell you more about the 2nd part of our journey….our trip from Guatemala to Belize. The bus took 6 hours to cross from Flores, Guatemala to the coastal city of Belize City. We caught a water taxi in Belize City to take us to one of the small islands off the coast called Caye Caulker. When we arrived we noticed that everyone on the island was African/Caribbean. We really had no idea about this place but from the moment we stepped onto this little island we could see it was a special place, The people were just very friendly and warm. There were no roads on Caye Caulker and everyone walked around barefoot. Mac instantly made many friends on the island. I’ve included some more pictures of McKinley and all of his new Belizean friends. I will continue the story when we return from out trip to Atlanta. We have so many warm memories if the kind people, the white sand beaches, the turquoise blue water, and the whole vibe of Belize. We will return!
